Privacy notice

Who is responsible for your data

The controller is Intepro UK Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 05766149), registered office Unit 9 Lakeside Business Park, Swan Lane, Sandhurst, Berkshire, GU47 9DN.

For anything about this notice or your data, write to us at that address, email sales@inteproate.com or telephone +44 1252 875600. Please mark it “Data protection” so it reaches the right person.

What we collect

What you give us. When you use the enquiry form we receive:

  • your name, organisation, work email address and, if you add it, your telephone number;
  • the standard you are assessed against, the device under test and what you write about the requirement.

If you email or ring us, we receive whatever you choose to send or tell us.

What is collected as you use the site.

  • How you found us during this visit: the page you arrived on, the website that referred you, any campaign tag in the link, when the visit began and how many pages you read. This is kept in your browser for the visit and is sent to us only if you send an enquiry or tap our telephone number or email address.
  • If you tap our telephone number or email address, a short note that you did, with the page, where on the page the link sat, the visit details above and your approximate country. It does not identify you by name.
  • With an enquiry, the page you sent it from and your approximate country, worked out from your IP address.
  • Our hosting provider’s standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested and times.
  • Google Analytics information about the pages you view and the links and form steps you use, with general device, browser and location details. See “Cookies and similar technologies” below.
  • Technical signals from your browser that Cloudflare Turnstile uses to tell people from automated spam.

Who receives it

  • Our technology providers, who act on our instructions: Vercel (website hosting), Google (Tag Manager and Analytics), Cloudflare (Turnstile spam protection), Resend (email delivery), and Digital Gravity, our website provider. Digital Gravity runs the service that receives, screens and forwards enquiries, hosted on Microsoft Azure, and receives copies of enquiries and tap notes to report on how the site is performing.
  • Other companies in the Intepro group — Intepro Systems America in the United States and Intepro Systems Ireland — where they help answer your enquiry. Our sales email address reaches the group as well as the UK office.
  • Professional advisers, regulators, courts and law enforcement where the law requires it or to establish or defend legal claims.
  • A buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganised.

International transfers

Several of the recipients above are based in, or store data in, the United States, and our group has companies in the United States and Ireland. When personal data leaves the UK, it must be protected by UK adequacy regulations or by appropriate safeguards.

Our main technology providers include the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses in their data processing terms, and several of them are certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the “UK–US data bridge”). Ireland is covered by UK adequacy regulations. You can ask us for details of the safeguard that applies to a particular transfer, including transfers within the group, using the contact details above.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and the correspondence that follows for as long as we need them to answer you and to manage any business relationship that follows, and then for as long as we must keep business records by law. Visit details in your browser are deleted when you close the tab. Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Analytics account, and server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited time.

Cookies and similar technologies

The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) govern storing or reading information on your device. This is exactly what the site does today:

  • Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 load on every page. For visitors in the UK, the EEA and Switzerland, the site sets every Google consent signal to “denied” before they load, so Google Analytics does not store its cookies on your device. It still sends Google cookieless measurements of page views and events. Visitors from elsewhere get Google Analytics’ own cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID). Advertising storage is denied for everyone.
  • Visit details (the page you arrived on, referrer, campaign tag, start time and pages read) are kept in your browser’s session storage under the name ips.attr. No cookie is set and nothing is sent until you enquire or tap a contact link. It is deleted when you close the tab.
  • A copy of an enquiry you send is kept in session storage until we confirm it arrived, so it can be sent again if the connection drops. This is needed for the service you asked for.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile may store a small amount of data in your browser to complete its security check. This is needed to protect the form.

The site does not currently show a cookie banner or ask for consent before these run. You can block or clear cookies and site data in your browser settings, and the site will still work; you can install Google’s opt-out add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout; or you can contact us to object.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • have inaccurate data corrected (rectification);
  • have your data erased;
  • restrict how we use it;
  • object to our use of it, including where we rely on legitimate interests;
  • data portability — receive data you gave us in a structured, machine-readable form, or have it sent to another organisation;
  • withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent, without affecting what we did before.

To use any of these rights, contact us as set out above. We will respond within one month, and may need to confirm who you are first. Some rights have limits — for example, we may need to keep records the law requires — and we will tell you if one applies.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Security

The site is served only over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data we hold. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the internet.

Children

This site is for engineers and organisations buying test equipment. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when the site or the way we use personal data changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
