Do you still need UKCA in 2026?
No. CE marking is accepted in Great Britain indefinitely for the EMC and Low Voltage regimes, and there is no end date.
The Product Safety and Metrology etc. (Amendment) Regulations 2024 came into force on 1 October 2024 and amend 22 pieces of legislation, including the Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016.
Why this reaches the test bench
The question is asked constantly and answered wrongly almost as often, usually by confusing it with a different date. 31 December 2027 is a narrower concession about where the UKCA mark may be PLACED — on a label or an accompanying document rather than the product itself. It has nothing to do with whether CE is accepted.

SI 2024/696 also permits the UKCA marking to be applied where recognised EU requirements and conformity assessment have been met, so UKCA and CE are now two routes to the same evidence base.
How this differs from the American regime
No American analogue. This is a purely British market-access question.
