Battery and EV work is where the bidirectional half of this category earns its cost. A supply that can sink as well as source runs a charge-discharge cycle without a load bank, and returns the discharge energy instead of turning it into heat somebody has to ventilate. For DC bus immunity work the requirement is different again: not power, but the ability to produce a defined disturbance on demand.

A two-quadrant DC supply that sources and sinks from the same terminals, to 2250 V.
The 2250 V class is what EV traction and stack-level work has moved towards, and the source-and-sink behaviour is what turns a charge-discharge cycle into one instrument instead of a supply plus a load bank plus the cooling for it.

A parallelable programmable DC supply for benches that need to grow.
Buying a 5 kW chassis and paralleling to 75 kW later is a different capital argument from buying 75 kW at the start, and it is usually the one that gets approved. Confirm figures against the manufacturer's current datasheet before quoting.
